Collateral Damage - Children in War
19 January - 6 February 2016 - Putney School of Art & Design, Oxford Road London SW15 2LQ
All the research Yvette undertook for this exhibition was based on circumstances and the politics at the time.
Yvette’s latest exhibition is an uncompromising and challenging expose of the destruction borne by the children of Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan, DR Congo, Ukraine...as warring factions and imperial forces wreak havoc on civilians caught up in territorial, economic and ideological conflicts.
Most of the paintings of dead children are Palestinians killed by the forces of the Israeli state. Many others are refugees, fleeing war or enduring life in horrific conditions in camps across the Middle East. This has to end.
"Over a billion children live in countries ravaged by war. Just 3% of global humanitarian aid is spent on protecting children" - War Child
All proceeds went to Medical Aid for Palestinians.
